Trust me when I say there is a sparkling wine option that works for everyone! Have a look - I’m sure you’ll find something to love in this list! xo

NOTE - If you’re located in Ontario and shopping at the LCBO, I’ve provided links to help you out below. 5 SPARKLING WINES THAT ARE PERFECT FOR ENJOYING RIGHT NOW!

Taittinger Prestige Brut Rose Champagne $88.95 Product #993113

Now please tell me - who in the world doesn’t like a glass full of pink bubbly? Talk about an instant pick-me-upper!

This particular example is especially interesting because it isn’t a regular feature item in our market. And beyond that, Taittinger (pronounced “ta-tahn-jai”) is simply one of the best “big house” Champagnes around, in my view.

Expect this wine to have plenty of red fruit, apple, citrus and toast notes alongside a zippy finish. And with 10 g/L of residual sugar, which is just a little hint of sweetness, this Champagne should please a broad range of people. A special treat for sure!

2019 The Foreign Affair Brut Sparkling Rose $24.95 Product #19346

For those from Ontario, The Foreign Affair Winery is likely not a foreign name. A well established and highly regarded winery in the Niagara region, The Foreign Affair Winery is perhaps most well known for making rich, appassimento-style wines.

But here, we have a lovely rose - in fact, this is the inaugural release of their first ever sparkling wine - which is sure to be a fun patio sipper! Made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Riesling (with a small proportion of the Riesling being fermented using the appassimento method), this light and fruity wine is not taking itself too seriously, so you can do the same.

Pair this wine with creamy cheese or fresh garden salads. Then kick back and enjoy this local gem! :)

2019 Ka Tahi Hawke’s Bay Cuvee Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc $24.95 Product #18327

Are you looking to try something new when it comes to your sparkling wine? You know, that little something that gets you off the beaten track?

Well, if that’s the case, why not give this super cool sparkling wine from New Zealand a try? Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, this wine is unique simply because of the grape variety it is made from. Add to this that it is from New Zealand, and you’ve got a cool mix in my view!

Expect this wine to be lightly sweet and fruity, with a crisp and lingering finish. It’s the perfect accompaniment for Asian dishes, like fried spring rolls or chow mein noodles.

2019 Indomita Brut Sparkling $14.95 Product #18561

Another sparkler that is from off the regularly beaten track, this wine hails from the Casablanca Valley of Chile, where cool sea breezes help grapes to fully ripen and retain acidity.

Made from a blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, this wine is available at an incredible price point that definitely doesn’t hurt the wallet. So go ahead and try it with seafood and let me know what you think!

Delamotte Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne $89.95 Product #3475

If you didn’t know already, it’s worth noting from the start that this Champagne comes from one of the five oldest Champagne houses in the Champagne region.

Often referred to as a “hidden gem” or a champagne for those that are “in the know”, Champagne Delamotte Blanc de Blancs Brut is a delightful sipper that is perfect for those seeking an elevated and elegant experience.

“Blanc de Blancs” refers to the fact that this Champagne is made from 100% Chardonnay, much of it sourced from choice vineyards. Dry, lithe and chalky, with notes of stone fruit, toast and florals, this Champagne is the perfect aperitif to kick off a great night summer evening with friends and family! It will also pair beautifully with shellfish and/or oysters.

And there you have it - my sparkling picks for this week. I hope you have a wonderful time trying some or all of these and don’t forget to drop me a line to let me know what you think if you do!

Sante! :)
